Shipping and Delivery Policy

At 803 Kustomz LLC / Container Workx LLC, we understand that the safe and timely delivery of your custom container home or modular structure is a critical part of your project. Due to the extreme weight and size of our products, our shipping procedures involve specialized heavy freight logistics.

Please read this policy carefully to understand how we calculate delivery costs, estimated timelines, and your responsibilities for site preparation.

1. Freight and Delivery Costs

Because our products require heavy-duty transport, shipping is not a flat rate and is not included in the base price of the container unless explicitly stated in your custom quote.

  • Custom Quotes: Delivery costs are calculated based on the total mileage from our fabrication facility to your specified delivery address, as well as the size and weight of the structure (e.g., 20ft vs. 40ft containers).

  • Equipment Required: The cost will also depend on the type of truck required. We typically utilize tilt-bed trailers (which slide the container directly onto the ground) or flatbed trailers (which require you to have a crane or heavy-duty forklift on-site to offload).

  • Tolls and Permits: Any specialized wide-load permits, escort vehicles, or heavy-freight toll fees required for your specific route will be factored into your final delivery quote.

2. Delivery Timelines

  • Transit Time: Once your custom build is completed and final payment has been cleared, standard freight transit typically takes between 3 to 10 business days, depending on your location and weather conditions.

  • Delays: While we strive to meet all estimated delivery windows, dates are estimates and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, carrier mechanical failures, or supply chain disruptions.

3. Customer Site Preparation Responsibilities

Proper site preparation is the sole responsibility of the customer. To ensure a successful delivery, you must guarantee the following before the truck arrives:

  • Adequate Clearance: The delivery truck requires significant clearance. For a 20ft container, you generally need at least 60 feet of straight clearance. For a 40ft container, you need at least 100 feet of straight clearance, plus a minimum of 14 feet of height clearance (free of low-hanging tree branches or power lines).

  • Ground Conditions: The delivery truck is exceptionally heavy and cannot drive over soft mud, wet grass, steep inclines, or unstable terrain. The path to the drop site must be firm, dry, and relatively flat.

  • Foundation/Leveling: The exact spot where the container will be placed must be level. We recommend preparing a foundation of crushed gravel, concrete footings, or a concrete slab to ensure the structural integrity of your modular home.

  • Failed Deliveries: If the driver arrives and determines the site is inaccessible or unsafe to offload due to poor site preparation, the delivery will be aborted. You will be responsible for the full cost of the failed delivery attempt, as well as the cost of returning the container to our yard or redelivering it at a later date.

4. The Delivery Process

  • Scheduling: Our logistics coordinator will contact you at least 48 hours prior to the expected delivery to confirm the date and time window.

  • On-Site Representative: You, or a designated representative over the age of 18, must be present at the delivery site to guide the driver to the drop location and sign the final delivery paperwork.

  • Inspection: Upon arrival, please inspect the exterior of the structure for any damage that may have occurred during transit before signing the Bill of Lading. Any freight damage must be documented immediately (see our Return and Refund Policy for damage claim procedures).

5. Delivery Radius and Restrictions

  • Service Area: We currently arrange freight delivery within the contiguous 48 United States.

  • Local Zoning: We are strictly a fabrication and sales company. It is your responsibility to ensure that placing a container home on your property complies with all local zoning laws, HOA regulations, and municipal building codes prior to scheduling delivery.
